AbstractThis work presents the Dauco carotae-Crepidetum rhoeadifoliae plant association, which is new to Poland. The association has been observed in industrial reclamation areas in the vicinity of carbonate mineral excavation sites in the central part of the Opole region. In the vast majority of cases, plots of this association developed in reclaimed areas. The majority of diagnostic species for the association was found within surveyed plots, including Verbascum thapsus, V. densiflorum and Bryum argenteum. Taxa characteristic of the alliance were also constantly present, i.e. Daucus carota, Melilotus alba, M. officinalis, Echium vulgare and Erysimum hieracifolium. This association belongs…

Moritz Brosig (1815–1887) był śląskim muzykiem, organistą i kompozy-torem. Jego twórcza działalność koncentrowała się na szeroko pojętej muzyce liturgicznej. Archiwum Państwowe w Opolu przechowuje 35 opinii organoznawczych sporządzonych przez niego w latach 1871–1884, które dotyczą instrumentów na Śląsku Opolskim. Jest to niezwykle interesujący i bogaty zestaw dokumentów, pełen ciągle nieodkrytej wiedzy o śląskim budownictwie organowym XVIII–XX w. Artykuł prezentuje zawartość opinii eksperckich Moritza Brosiga. Autor skupia się na kwestiach brzmieniowych, ale wymienia także wiele nazw ówczesnych warsztatów organmistrzowskich.

The Labor Day that falls on the May 1, was one of the most important events in Poland during the communist period. The celebrations were preceded by long-term preparations. Since the beginning of March, the society undertook May Day deeds. A few weeks before Labor Day, committees were formed, which ensured that the celebrations would proceed in accordance with the guidelines of the Central Committee of the PUWP. The article analyses the course of the May Day celebrations in Opole Silesia. Starting early in the morning on the Labourer's Day, propaganda slogans and reports of accomplished May Day actions were broadcast, and delegates from various workplaces, organisations and institutions gathered in order to participate in the manifestations. The main culminating point of the celebration agenda was the parade which set off after speeches delivered by the representatives of the party authorities. The parades were organised in all of the cities and all the commune centres. The parade in Opole had the largest number of participants in the region - in 1955, it gathered 50,000 people. Aside from the official part of the celebrations, Labour Day included the entertainment part as well. In the afternoon of the lst of May numerous art and sport events, as well as games, lotteries etc. were organised in Opole and in other major localities of the voivodeship. These were received with acclamation by the community, and they noted considerable turnout. For that day the authorities arranged sale of products that were difficult to purchase on a daily basis, which constituted one more attraction of May Day celebrations. The paper presents the vegetation types with invasive Senecio inaequidens along the road verges in the Opole Silesia. The large population of this South-African species was located in the second half of June 2018 in the green belt (central reservation) along the A4 motorway (motorway section Brzeg – Opole).

The paper presents new sites of interesting synanthropic plants in the Opole Silesia. Three halophilous species,Plantago coronopus L. Spergularia marina (L.) Besser and Cochlearia officinalis L. were found on road verges of motorway A4 within the section Brzeg – Prądy. All species were observed with very large population sizes. They can thrive because of de-icing of the motorway surface with the application of sodium chloride spray.
